• It requires far less radiation to obtain an image - radiation doses to the patient can be reduced by up to 80%
• It captures higher resolution images than traditional gamma cameras - the resolution is better than PET
• It can produce real 3D images (not tomographically computed ones) from a single image capture - even on a single headed camera
