Lowrad 10 Benefits
The Lowrad 10 system has the following benefits:
- The radiation dose to the patient can be reduced by up to 80%
- The system can produce images with a resolution better than PET
- The system produces true 3D images. Note these are not tomographically computed. The Lowrad Decoder Software produces multiple image slices in DICOM format
- The Lowrad 10 can be easily added to new or existing gamma cameras - both single and double-headed. If fitted to a double headed camera only one head is used
- Isotope and marker running costs can be reduced by up to 80%
- Reduced radiation dose to radiographer
- It is also possible to give patients a higher radiation dose for faster data acquisition time. Potentially this will have most impact for paediatric imaging where the patients may not keep still for long periods of time
- The system can image isotopes with energy ranges up to 600Kev: conventional isotopes like technetium-99, thallium-201 or iodine-123 can all be used
- There is no requirement to change collimators once the Lowrad 10 is fitted
